STORM SUMMARY 1-2-12

Flurries spread into the area on the afternoon on 1-1-12. This activity was off and on into the early afternoon hours on 1-2-12. There were some embedded snow showers that developed between 4-6am. This activity produced trace to less than in inch amounts (mostly ¼ inch amounts) mainly from a line from Rockford to south of Midway Airport. North of this line is where the majority of any accumulation occurred. Much of the snow was whipped around but winds gusting 30-35 mph at times.
Salting was needed in the snow areas.
