STORM SUMMARY 1-11&12-2015

An area of snow spread into north central and northeast Illinois between 3-5pm.
The activity moves just south and east of Rockford and only produced trace
Amounts over northern Lake County. Precipitation south of I88 over
Parts of Kendall, Grundy, Will and Kankakee Counties was more of
A mixture of rain, freezing rain, and snow which resulted in lower snow totals.
Snowfall was pretty much rapped up by 10-11pm over DeKalb, Northern Kane,
Northwest Cook Counties. The activity diminished 12-2am from a line from ORD
To Naperville. This was a salting and plowing operation as 1.5 to 3.5 inches fell
Where the precipitation fell as all snow and was a salting operation far south burbs. One interesting note, with the 2.9 inches of snow at ORD, the season total is just .1 Below normal. Even after an almost snow-free December, we are back on track for now. Officially, O’Hare had 2.9 inches, Rockford none and Romeoville .9 We do expect some lake effect snow late afternoon/evening and night on 1-12 Which we will do a separate write up if necessary.
