STORM SUMMARY 3-1&2-14.
March came in like a lion in 2014. The system produced two periods of snowfall. A brief band of snow moved through between 2 and 5am. Amounts ranged from less than an inch south burbs to 1.5 inches north. The second band was the more significant band which developed from Rockford the Lake County late am and early afternoon before spreading southward and covering all areas by late afternoon. The snow diminished 4-7am on the 2nd. Temperatures started out in the upper 20s to lower 30s between midnight to 3am. Temperatures lowers to the lower 20s 5-7am. Readings continue to slowly fall to the lower teens by 9pm. Total snow accumulation was mainly in the 3-5.5 inch range.
