A clipper type system produced a late season snowfall for the area. A winter weather advisory covered the area 3am to noon. Snow spread into the Rockford area 2-3am before spreading into the Chicago area 4-6am. Some of the south burbs Didn’t receive much in the way of snowfall until near 7am. The main band of snow exited the area from west to east 10-11am. Some additional flurries and snow showers followed until mid afternoon. As expected, moderate to occasional heavy snow fell in a 4-5 hour period resulting a wide range of snow totals.
