STORM SUMMARY 2-7-11

Snow developed over the area between 1-3pm. Intensities varied from spot to spot which Resulted in non uniform snow totals. There were some moderate bursts of snow between 3:30pm and 5pm, otherwise snowfall was fairly light in intensity. The snow diminished to Flurries between 10pm and midnight. Temperatures were in the upper 20s at the onset Of the snowfall and lowered to around 20 by midnight. Salting and plowing was again required. Some flurries lingered into the early morning hours of 2-8. The official snowfall total at O’Hare Airport was 3.3 inches which brings the season total up to 53.3 inches. This marks the Fourth consecutive winter with snowfall above 50 inches which is a record. Rockford had .4 and Their season to date total is 48.5 inches.
