Light snow and flurries began 12-2am and diminished to flurries and non accumulating snow by mid morning. The last of the flurries diminished 1-3pm. Amounts 1-2 inches northern tier of counties with mainly under an inch elsewhere. Salting was required for most areas
Along with some plowing far north burbs. The official snowfall for O’Hare was .6 and Rockford .7 (2 day total 1”)

STORM SUMMARY 2-20-11

Rain, freezing rain and sleet began from south to north between 5-7am. There was some very light glazing initially. Temperatures and surface temperatures rose into The mid 30s 9-10am which ended the glazing. Salting was needed where the glazing occurred early am. Temperatures were around 30-32 at the onset of
the rainfall and by 9am they were in the mid 30s.

Snow began 3-5 am till late morning. Snowfall was then off and on for the remainder of the day. The majority of the accumulation occurred prior to noon. As less than inch fell during the afternoon and night. Snow diminished for good 8-10pm.. snow totals averaged
